Yesterday, the World was shocked to hear of the passing of Angie Stone. Ms. Angie Stone, who had a Legendary career. She was a member of the Group "The Sequence", a Pioneering Rap Group. "The Sequence" is noted as the first female hip hop trio, signed to the Sugar Hill Records label in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The group consisted of Cheryl Cook, known as "Cheryl The Pearl", Gwendolyn Chisolm, known as "Blondy", and lead singer and rapper Angie Stone, known as Angie B. Elements of their song "Funk You Up", have been used by Legends like Dr. Dre., She was also a Member of two RnB groups, one called "Vertical Hold" and later "Devoux". She later went solo and was signed to Arista Records. She went into acting in the 2000's, making her film debut in the 2002 comedy film "The Hot Chick". Her list of awards and accomplishments are numerous.

Music producer Walter Millsap III told the Associated Press that Stone was killed in a car crash March 1. The vehicle she was riding in from Alabama "flipped over and was subsequently hit by a big rig," Millsap III said.
Stone’s manager Deborah Champagne told WSFA, an NBC affiliate in Montgomery, Alabama, that the crash occurred on Interstate 65 in Montgomery County after Stone performed at the Mobile Area Mardi Gras Association Grand Marshal’s Ball.
After performing in Mobile, Alabama on Friday, Stone was with nine people traveling to Atlanta, Georgia in a Sprinter van when the accident occurred, according to her representative. Among the 9 passengers, was Saginaw native James Owens Jr. who was a friend and member of Angie Stone's musical entourage. His Father, also a member, James Owens, who stated he was scheduled but later changed his mind and flew home.
We are praying for James Owens Jr.'s recovery and everyone involved in not only the physical aspect but mentally, as it can be traumatizing and that we pray for the families of all involved. Owen's Family member Jasmine Owens also stated on Facebook how much Angie was a beloved part of their Family. Ms. Angie Stone's family. Ms. Angie Stone has two children. Stone's daughter, Diamond, was born in 1984 and is from her marriage to Rodney Stone, also known as Lil' Rodney C!, from the hip-hop group Funky Four Plus One. In 1998, Ms. Stone had son Michael D'Angelo Archer II, from her relationship with RnB Legend D'Angelo. Ms. Stone has two grandchildren. Prayers go out to the Legendary Ms. Stone's Family.
